Have had a few Warner’s breaks but 1st time at Gunton Hall.
Very good, all the usual facilities, the Chalets are excellent, tho as we were staying in 2 basic ones it was quite a walk to the main building for food and entertainment
But all that was excellent, a lovely restaurant , very good food and after the evening meal all the entertainment was very good..
All the Chalets are in beautiful grounds with lakes and good walks.but you can pay more to have some of the best with lakeside views,
All staff are very friendly and helpful and if you don’t Mind Chalets an excellent choice for a cheaper option than their hotels.
We had 2 Premier Chalets and a standard room (new). The standard room was ideally situated by the back door and considering its location was surprisingly quiet. It was quite a snug room, large comfortable bed, great pillows, couple of chairs, tea and coffee making facilities, in fact everything needed for a weekend away. Bathroom was compact with a walk in shower, all very new, liked the sensor light in the bathroom. The Premier chalets were a short walk away, very well equipped, much more spacious. All 3 rooms were lovely and clean.
Upon check in you are taken to the dining room and also the Pavilion to see your tables for eating and the entertainment - these are your tables for the whole of your stay. Not too keen on the seating arrangement in the Pavilion, as a party of 5 we were sat in a row, if we moved the chairs we blocked the aisle for people to the bar.
The food in the restaurant is plentiful, with a carvery every night plus other choices from the buffet or table service available. Even the fussiest in the party ate well! Breakfasts are fantastic, everything you could possibly want, only complaint is that the toast was always cold, I guess with mass catering it’s been sitting there a while. Our waiter Josh was very good and very personable.
The main entertainment on Saturday was Counterfeit Quo, absolutely brilliant, book them again and we’ll return. Also a special mention for Craig who did a 30 minute singing slot on Friday evening in the Regency Lounge, he should be used more, a born entertainer who is very funny.
During the day lots of activities are arranged plus there is the pool which is great. We didn’t need to leave the complex but we chose to walk to the beach which is about 20 minutes walk.
My parents often visit Gunton and said that there was probably a younger mix of guests due to the tribute band, but I would return, especially if you book Counterfeit Quo again.
Friendly staff, good location, very good choice of food on the menu and good entertainment. Plus very good leisure facilities.
